Your academic performance during the last few
years of your schooling are important to colleges that review your application. Each
school youve attended from the high school level onward (colleges only for graduate
students) will need to send copies of your transcripts to each school you want to
consider you for admission.
What are transcripts?
Transcripts are records of your academic performance. Every school keeps records of how you do while you are there, and U.S. colleges and universities will want these records from each school that you have attended at the high school level or above.
What do I do if I have some bad grades?
One or two bad grades isn't usually a problem. If you have a few bad grades on your transcript, you can discuss them in your statement of purpose. Good students can get bad grades for many reasons that have nothing to do with their ability to perform academically. Just remember, even if you got some bad grades at one school, you still need to send those transcripts.
